It all started in 2021,
over a coffee...
Louis Morissette and Phil Roy, with the desire to develop their own canned coffee business, got in touch with Jonathan Robin from Station Agro-Biotech, whom they knew through mutual friends. Before they knew it, this small idea grew in the minds of the co-founders, quickly leading to the expansion of Station Agro-Biotech’s facility to bring the project to life.
"People who know me know that I'm a big coffee lover. Good coffee! It's a daily ritual, a true passion that I love to share." – Phil Roy
With coffee lovers as co-founders,
The importance of the product has always been the team’s number one priority. After over a year of R&D and countless recipes tested, we’ve managed to offer 4 flavours with distinct profiles, all featuring coffee and milk as the main ingredients. On top of that, our goal was to create a healthy product, free from unpronounceable ingredients, providing the energy you need solely from caffeine.
This innovative project, however, didn’t come without its challenges! Indeed, to market a dairy product without refrigeration, it must be sterilized. This complexity explains the limited number of players in the industry at the moment, as to produce its coffees, Station Agro-Biotech acquired a continuous can autoclave, a first in Canada.
"Canned coffee is an untapped market; it's a great product with the potential to become a strong brand in Quebec."
– Louis Morissette.
This is how the small expansion project at Station Agro-Biotech turned into a large-scale endeavor, including not only a second expansion, the installation of a fully automated production line, but also the hiring of about fifteen employees. In total, over 30 million dollars were invested in the project, even before a single can was sold. That’s what we call believing in your idea.
